Color Sounds considers the phenomenon of color synesthesia--a neurological condition in which an individual connects colors with certain sounds. The pitch of each sound is determined by the color temperature, measured in degrees kelvin. Cool colors have are high on the color temperature spectrum as warm colors are low on the spectrum.

Color Sounds uses Max/MSP, artbus and seven hall effect sensor. The user drags magnets across the surface of the test pattern, the data from the magnets is received by the sensors and sent to Max/MSP via artbus. Sine waves are triggered in Max in relation to the placement of the magnet on the cloth. -Bailey Salisbury
